Welcome to "I Had A Dream". Enjoy.
Well, I kind of stepped out of myself somewhat to complete my version of what I learned in OLTD 505. I thought of making a video of some kind that would allow me to integrate a lot of cool stuff that I could bring together from many sources - then I changed my mind. I thought I should come out of my comfort zone a little and challenge myself with a bit of role playing. Not really my favourite pastime. No, if you are thinking I wrote a song, that's not it. I do like to play my guitar and sing, but that would have been really out of my comfort zone. Ok, so what did I do? Well, I decided to do a bit of preaching about the facets of this course that I thought were the major themes for me. What better way to do that than to do a parody of one of the all time best preachers with a famous speech? I chose to rewrite Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech he delivered in 1963. Please remember that this is a parody and in no way represents any disrespect to Mr. King, quite the opposite as i have always found it inspiring. I used Prezi as my tool and Audacity for the voice-over. It is meant to be viewed in continuous play mode. I had tried to record the whole thing using a screen cast, but it didn't seem able to record the audio track that was already in the Prezi. I am still working on that. Any solutions are appreciated.
Welcome to "I Had A Dream". Enjoy.

I had a laugh every time you said, "I had a dream". Thank for sharing and what a great idea. I had the same problem you did in trying to use Audacity, PowerPoint, and Screencast. While using Screencast, I just put my speakers next to my mic and than manually ran the slideshow. http://knightsdl.weebly.com/blog-505

Edward- fantastic fun. It's amazing that even as I am laughing at the parody, I am actually moved by the power of the language and the cadence of the speech. It makes me want to study rhetoric. Excellent summary of the course and it is clear that you have put a lot of thought into the issues raised by 505.

What a great idea to use Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech! Thank you for continuing to show me how to think outside the box - a great idea and a very creative summary of learning. As always, I've enjoyed learning from you!
